When I am online, I always look for the freebies. In ministry our budgets truly support looking for the most efficient way to do things. Here is a short list of places I have discovered to help with communications. Feel free to add to this list.
- Stock Photos - (http://www.sxc.hu/) Provides stock photos you can use in creating your ministry communications.
- Sound Editor (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) Provides free editing and recording.
- Free Ministry Conference Calls (http://www.freeconferencecall.com/prodfreeconferencecall.asp) Provides a great way to host ministry or leadership meetings without any travel. Helps to save on rising gas prices.
- Ministry Management Software (http://www.churchradius.com/) Provides a resource for tracking databases.
- Facebook (www.facebook.com ) – Provides opportunity to network with ministry colleagues, build new relationships, bridge the communication with youth and young adults. Visit our Facebook page and join our fans and friends list.
- Feedburner (www.feedburner.com ) – Shares a tool to do podcasts for ministry.
- Youtube (www.youtube.com ) – Allows opportunity to upload videos of ministry, special services, events and dialogue.
- Wordpress (www.wordpress.com ) – Offers a great tool to create blog site that can be independent or link to your church website. Wonderful templates are available at no fee.
- Feedblitz (www.feedblitz.com ) – Allows you to publish an email newsletter and to monitor blogs, web urls and RSS feeds. Great way to keep up with what’s happening with other ministries.
- Letterpop (www.letterpop.com ) – Makes great newsletters and other correspondence. E-newsletters can be linked to your church website.
- Flickr (www.flickr.com ) – Allows you to store your church photos then link them to your church website. Gather the photos taken by members and load them on here.
- Blogger.(www.blogger.com ) – Gives you a place to host your pastor or ministry blog for free.
- Gmail (www.gmail.com ) – Provides a free email option via Google for people who may be looking for an email Offers good spam filters and lots more.
- Hotmail (www.hotmail.com )– provides a free email option via MSN for people who may be looking for an email Offers good spam filters and lots more.
- Maps (www.maps.google.com/maps ) – Gives you a place to create a map to your church that can be used on flyers, websites, etc.
- Alerts (www.google.com/alerts ) – Gives you opportunity to keep up to date on church topics and see information on the web that may be communicated.
- Icebrrg Forms (www.icebrrg.com) - Designs web forms that you can publish on your church site or use independently on their site. Registration forms, surveys and other forms used in ministry can be created here.
- Lulu (www.lulu.com ) – Offers a way to create books, e-books, CD’s and magazines with no set up fee. You can see my ponderpaks and audio materials on this site.
